One of the most surprising outcomes in the romance scam world for 2018 is the surge in scams coming and going to the Hong Kong area.
In the first four months of the year, romance scams tripled there. But its not hard to see why romance scams are spreading to other areas. With the crackdown on scams in Africa...scammers are recruiting local Hong Kong residents to try to tap a new market where they think it will be much easier to operate.So far, they have been rather successful.
But, Hong Kong authorities have made several busts in 2018 to try to stop the spread of these scams there.
