Refunds Being Issued for Those Scammed Through Western Union
If you were the victim of a scam and sent money to a scammer via Western Union between January 1st, 2004 and January 19th, 2017, you may be entitled to a refund.
The multi-state settlement involving the Department of Justice and Western Union created a $586 million dollar fund to be used for the Victim's Asset Recovery Program.
Victims of romance scams are not the only ones eligible. All types of scams are covered under this settlement. The best way to see if you are eligible for a refund is to go to FTC website and file a claim. All claims must be submitted by February of 2018.
