Head Cashier at Law Firm Steals $526,473 from Company to Send to Romance Scammer
Fifty-four-year-old Pamela Wareing from England was the head cashier and compliance officer for Blackpool Lawfirms Eastham, where she had worked for twenty years. She stole $526,473 from a client account to send to her online boyfriend in Dubai.
However, the boyfriend who she believed to be a member of the U.S. Military serving overseas wasn't really who he said he was. Sargeant Eric Lopez really was a romance scammer.
And while he gets away with all the money, Pamela gets sentenced to almost three years in jail.
